11x14 GLITTER
Clark Little was born in Napa, California and spent his first few years on an apple and prune ranch there. A move to the North Shore of Oahu dramatically changed his future. As a boy, he entered amateur surf contests. As a young adult he made his name as the pioneer of surfing at the Waimea Bay shorebreak. Clark had a unique talent for taking off on hopeless closeouts. While riding a surfboard, he was able to launch, pull into, and survive a ride in perhaps the nastiest shorebreak in the world. After Clark stepped away from the incredible thrill of going big at Waimea, he realized that he longed to be back in his element. Clark has returned to various North Shore shorebreaks, this time with his camera, to capture the beauty and power of these monstrous waves from the inside out. He has produced, with the aid of his camera lens, his perceptive eye and his knowledge of the shore break, images never seen by those who reside on land. Clark has captured images like none other, with a keen eye for that perfect barrel, backwash, or reef shot. He has expanded his repertoire to include not only crushing pits, but also crystal waves that resemble hand-blown glass and picturesque island moments that reflect the awe-inspiring splendor of the Hawaiian Islands. Clark Little's images encapsulate the breathtaking beauty and power of the Hawaiian ocean, and depict a world that few, if any, have had the chance to experience. Because he shoots the shore break on a daily basis, he continues to add stunning photographs to his portfolio.
