Ukulele Sound
This opuma wood Concert ukulele has a sweet tone to it. It is loud and very forceful. It's sounds great when you're strumming it. I love the sound of it strummed at speed. Picking the ukulele doesn't give you quite the same force. It's not terrible, but I find it hard to give it enough force to get a satisfying tone and volume.
Ukulele Playability
As with most Concert ukuleles there is a divide between strumming and picking. Strumming feels great. In fact, it is a favorite for strumming. Picking, however, can be a bit more challenging. As with most Concert ukuleles, many people with large hands find their fingers tripping over themselves when attempting to fingerpick a Concert ukulele. It's definitely possible (as you can see in the video about) however a Concert Ukulele wouldn't be my first choice for someone wanting to concentrate on finger picking.
Ukulele Review Summery
Highly recommended. This opuma wood Concert ukulele, particularly for individuals interested in a Concert ukulele with plenty of bite and strumming volume makes and great choice and represents an excellent value at the offered price.

How to Tune A Concert Ukulele
Like most Ukuleles, the Concert ukulele is tuned to the notes gCEA (going from nearest your head to nearest the ground). The G note is higher than the C note (this is known as re-entrant tuning). There are a number of different ways you can go about making sure you Concert is in tune.
Using Your Computer
If you have a mic on your computer you can use a program called AP Tuner to tune your ukulele. It is free a free program that can show you when your ukulele string is in tune (when the aero points to the zero and displays the name of the note).
Using an Ukulele Tuner
Often times when you want to tune your Concert ukulele you are not at the computer. Thus I can be very useful to have a portable ukulele tuner such as the Intelli Tuner. This ukulele tuner has a display similar to the AP Tuner however it works by clipping on to the headstock of your Concert ukulele and detecting the vibrations as you play. This allows you can tune your Concert ukulele even in noisy environments.
Using Your Ears
If you are confident of your ability to match pitches, you can tune a Concert ukulele to a piano, guitar or pitch pipes. Or using tuning note available online such as these: Online Ukulele Tuneing Notes
